We do not sell IPTV service, but to better answer question we have sent you an email. Thank you for your interest in our product.
You can toggle the subtitles on/off by hitting the T key on your keyboard. For a complete list of keyboard controls, check out our Instructions page https://uprhomesystems.com/instructions/
Actually, you cannot add additional APKs such as Showbox or TeaTV. These programs can only be added to a conventional OS such as Android (etc) – Our boxes use a Linux distribution of Kodi (known as LibreELEC) as the operating system. The advantage is that you are not playing “catch-up” with the latest version of Android. And of course, if you have a Kodi device that is properly set-up and maintained, you really don’t need the other programs like Showbox etc.
Yes, these devices have on-board wireless receivers
Hi. Thanks for the input! Try this link: https://support.nordvpn.com/#/General-Info/1089799092/How-to-set-up-NordVPN-on-Raspberry-Pi-with-Kodi.htm
No, this system does not play 4K video; however, there is very little “true” 4K content available for streaming
Unfortunately, that would not be an adequate speed with which to stream using this device. We recommend a minimum of 25 Mbps, and in some cases, people have been able to use at as low as 15 or 20 Mbps – but the quality may suffer.
Thank you for your interest in our product.
Our devices do not use a 32 GB SD card. There is a no-name brand 32 GB card included with the Canakit package that we mention on our DIY page. The only details I can offer about those cards is that they are reported to be a Class 10 card. To achieve a Class 10 designation, SD cards are suppose to be able to have a minimum read/write speed of 10 MB/s – We use a name brand UHS U-1 Class 10 16 GB micro SD card which typically exceeds this industry minimum by at least 20% – 30% on average.
No, the device does not come with a remote or controller included. There are; however, many different ways to control the device (wireless USB, Bluetooth, most native TV remotes will work or even downloading a free app on your smart phone or tablet) We recommend a wireless USB keyboard and sell one for $25 extra for those who are interested.
Honestly, you cannot get local live stuff reliably. There are a number of different sources for live content that we try to provide, and at any given time some of it will be working. The reality is though that in order to reliably secure live local content, you should either employ a minimum cable package ($25) OR use a HD antenna ($20 – $130) for basic Canadian and US networks. If you require assistance, or would like more information, we would be happy to help.
Yes, the system runs the Kodi platform and as such, is well suited to manage and play content stored on a drive. If you are connecting the drive directly to the streaming box, then that drive needs to have it’s own power source (cannot draw power from the streaming box). Drives which are directly connected to the streaming device are done so by means of a USB connection.
I’m considering getting a streamer box, are your boxes capable of adding a 4 terra byte portable drive or a desk top hard drive
Not at all, that’s the whole point. A Streaming TV Box turns any TV into a “Very” Smart TV
I guess you need a smart tv
Yes, you can take it anywhere there is a good internet connection. They are small and quite portable. In some countries you may require a voltage converter and/or adapter.
Can you use your box anywhere in the world? it would be great to take it while traveling.
A powerline adapter kit routes internet signal throughout your house via the household electrical system. One powerline adapter is connected to your router by an ethernet cord and then plugged into a nearby standard electrical wall socket. A second powerline adapter is plugged into a wall socket elsewhere in your house/apartment where you wish to access a wired connection to the internet. An ethernet cord is plugged into the second powerline adapter and then into whichever device (in our case, a Streaming TV Box) you wish to supply with internet signal. Your household’s electrical system is now the conduit of your internet signal. These are used when running a cord directly, perhaps through a wall or floor, is not desirable.
What does the Powerline Adapter Kit actually do? Your description is not clear to me. What is it fully connected to?
Good question. UPR Home Entertainment Systems does not host, broadcast or distribute any content whatsoever. All content potentially accessible is freely available on the internet. Furthermore, this is not an IPTV service and as such, UPR does not charge any monthly fees or issue subscriptions for any content that is accessible.
Do you actually own licenses and the right to be distributing the media?
Excellent question! They are selling this box for about $130.00 (after currency exchange) …. but it doesn’t stop there.
The boxes are indeed identical; however, we have a superior micro SD card, include an ethernet cord and have a better power supply (2.5A which is preferred) but that is essentially it. I can only account for maybe a $25 – $30 extra from their overall price (including exchange would amount to about $160.00 in total).
I would point out; however, a number of factors. This company is based in Germany. If you consult North American markets (specifically Canada), our cost for hardware alone (see http://www.canakit.com), with the additional ethernet cord and upgraded micro SD card (2x speed and 16 GB) is well over $100.00 CDN incl. taxes and shipping. I would also dispute their support and general set-up. Many of the advertised addons do not function, and haven’t functioned in about half a year. We maintain a vital and working set-up with an on-board updating addon of our own creation. This is also backed by our personal support.
If this isn’t enough of a red flag, I would point out the biggest issue with their product … it’s a gateway device to charge you monthly for illegal IPTV service. I would direct your attention to what is currently going on within the UK. Supposed “guaranteed sports” paid services that are being shut down and the users themselves are being held accountable.
Our devices are fairly and correctly priced for what you get. A sensible setup employed on a quality device that has been put together correctly. You also get true personal service and never stuck with antiquated video addons that no longer work. (Genesis, Navi-X, HD Cartoon etc.)
I hope this answers your concerns and the question posed. Please review the rest of our website for more information.
I was wondering what the difference was between your product a media box based on the raspberry 3b, and a product that is sold on https://www.sossolutions.nl/xbmc-compleet-3b ? As far as i can see both the media boxes are basically identical in software and hardware. So why the enormous price difference?
