Android Box Reprogramming
Recently, we have received a number of requests asking if we do Android Box Reprogramming.
The short answer is no. But there’s a good reason why we do not provide this service.
For those that may not know what this means, we have written this short article to explain.
What is the Situation?
In the last couple of years, there has been an explosion of cheap Android TV boxes onto the market. These are TV Boxes that use the Android operating system. On this operating system, it is very easy to load the popular Kodi media center platform.
The Kodi software is an open source (free for anyone to use) method to access and play almost any type of media content. This includes music, television shows, movies, and various live TV feeds including sports.
The challenge in using Kodi; however, is that the programs added to Kodi are always changing. And it is these programs within Kodi that access the various types of content. Since these programs are always changing, the set-up (or build) of a Kodi platform always needs to be adjusted.
Android Box Reprogramming
As the Kodi set-up (or build) on a TV Box becomes older, it becomes less useful. Over time, it may cease to function completely.
Consumers who have purchased one of these Android boxes now find themselves with a choice. They can either have someone reprogram it for them or they can endeavor to do it themselves.
Since many people have difficulty with properly reprogramming a TV Box, there has been an increased demand for these services.
Our Position and Solution
At UPR Home Systems, it is our belief that your Streaming TV Box should always function correctly.
Even if a consumer gets their box reprogrammed, it will not stay current and it will eventually fail again.
We charge more for our Streaming TV Boxes because they have a superior build, a better operating system and we support them with lifetime updates.
As such, we cannot provide the same assurance of quality with cheaper boxes.
