Looking to upgrade your Streaming TV experience?

Streaming TV Boxes are becoming very popular as more people choose to stream their television content. Perhaps you have been considering the switch from cable/satellite services to spend less money while enjoying more variety.

Maybe you have already tried a TV box yourself and found that the experience did not meet your expectations.

In this article, we take a look at some of the pitfalls and issues that new TV box owners could encounter after a while.

Android Boxes

Android Boxes

If you have looked into TV boxes at all, you’ve already found that “Android Boxes” are the most common option available. They are plentiful, relatively inexpensive, and can perform a wide variety of tasks.

Just like many smartphones and tablets, they use an Android operating system. This allows these devices to access and run all of the applications that you would normally load to your phone or tablet. This is great news, right? Perhaps not.

In order for the device to be able to run all of these additional functions, there is a significantly greater demand on the operating system. As a result, cheaper and lower-powered streaming TV boxes will typically have a harder time streaming television content smoothly.

You could find yourself waiting many additional seconds or even minutes for your movie to load.  Even greater delays can occur when you try to fast forward to the place you left off.

Loaded or Unloaded

One of the biggest factors to consider is whether the TV box you’re getting is “loaded” or “unloaded”. This means; will it already have the programming installed on it that you will need to watch television shows and movies?

Many box sellers will claim that the box they are selling is already loaded. You must ask yourself if it is current. And if it is current, is there a way to keep it current? How will you get the updates? Are they free and easy to get?

If you are an avid Do-It-Yourselfer, you will likely enjoy the regular attention it takes to get and keep your Kodi set-up current and working well. For more information about Kodi and Kodi set-ups, see our informational eBook here.
