Summer TV

Now safely into June, many of your popular television shows are into their summer hiatus. This means time to try and find something to watch on those later evenings or inclement days of summer. But “Summer TV” takes on a whole new definition when you have access to streaming content. It’s always there and you didn’t need to record it. Just as well. You probably didn’t even know the shows you missed were there.

Now is the best time to find those hidden gems that you maybe heard about, but never got around to seeing. And what is the best part? You probably have a full season, or even multiple seasons, to catch up. That means binge watching. The best! No waiting patiently until next week to see what happens to your favourite characters in your newest favourite show for you. No sir. Smiling and pleased with yourself, you simply catch the next episode waiting in the list.

Of course it’s wise to have more than one series standing by. I can tell you from experience that it can be a downer when you finally do catch up to present and you have another few weeks until your show resumes. Or worse … you realize that the series has simply finished. Such is the lot of a binge watcher. It’s a good thing that there are plenty of things to see.

And here is another advantage of streaming content. It really doesn’t matter how long ago the series started or where it originated. You have a virtual world of selection ahead of you. There are very few prime time titles you will not be able to find from one source or another. And don’t just stop at the most popular series titles. There is a wealth of entertainment from around the world. We have found some great offerings from the UK and Australia for instance.

Having left cable services (and all of the commercials) far behind, it’s sometimes hard to know what to watch. How can you find it if you don’t even know it exists? Google! Countless available options of online searching will find what suits you best. If there’s a show you like, simply Google a search for similar shows. Or search for “Top 100 shows of 2015” (or whichever year you wish). The possibilities and the results are near endless.

There are Pros and Cons to everything though. By the time you finish watching all of the things you missed, the summer will be over!

Do you have a favourite “hidden gem”? What will be your “summer TV” fare? Care to share with the rest of us?
